Under 15$/year server deals?
by RealPCGamer101
Guys, post the best vps annual deals y'all have found so far under 15$/year! Also if you're already using one do mention the provider and experience with them so far, curious to see what deals y'all have found so far! For me right now I'm using Dedirock 7$ a year vps with 2gb ram, 1vcpu and 2tb bandwidth. For the price it's pretty great to host like small websites and docker services.

agentic incident response actually saved me at 11pm last week
by laiba_so_it_is
6 person team, i carry the pager most weeks cuz nobody else wants it. last tuesday 11pm i get paged, payment latency climbing, checkouts timing out. normally this is me sitting up in bed squinting at grafana half asleep for 15 min trying to find what changed this time i had an agent wired into our runbook stuff and just let it run. it pulled recent deploys, correlated the error logs against the deploy timeline, and pointed at a connection pool config that got shrunk in a PR that afternoon. like 90 seconds, and it was right what got me is that same PR had already been flagged that day by coderabbit / bugbot for the exact config value, and we waved it through cuz it was a rushed merge before someone's flight. the warning was sitting right there, we ignored it, and the agent rediscovered it later on. i rolled back from my phone and went back to sleep i dont fully trust it solo though. its confidently pointed at the wrong deploy before when two things shipped close together, so i read it then verify myself. fast first pass, not a decision maker anyone letting an agent do remediation on its own yet or you all keeping a human in the loop like me submitted by /u/laiba_so_it_is [link] [comments]
Win 11 25H2 endpoints deadlocking on SSPI/Kerberos calls, klist hangs at LogonId, 0 Wireshark packets
by sneakerspark
Windows 11 25H2 endpoints in an Active Directory environment are intermittently hitting a total SSPI / Local Security Authority deadlock. When the issue occurs, any application relying on Windows identity/SSPI (curl with Negotiate, RDP, Chrome proxy auth, PuTTY via GSSAPI) freezes indefinitely. Running klist get tgt hangs at Current LogonId is 0:0x... and Wireshark captures ZERO network packets on Port 88/DNS/CLDAP . Dumb network utilities (ping, telnet, PuTTY with GSSAPI disabled) work fine. EDR has been completely uninstalled. Looking for advice on potential lsass.exe / Credential Guard (LSAIso.exe) hypervisor thread locks. Users have to reconnect to the network multiple to get around this issue Environment & Baseline Setup Endpoints: Windows 11 25H2 Directory: Active Directory (Windows Server 2016/2019 DCs) Web Proxy: Sophos Firewall (HA Virtual IP, Kerberos & NTLM configured) Kerberos Transport: Enforced over TCP (MaxPacketSize = 1) I'm frustrated as I'm unable to figure the issue and it is causing a great deal user experience issue. submitted by /u/sneakerspark [link] [comments]
Microsoft's new TPM KMS rules will just make people buy Macs instead of Windows.
by Alternative-Claim-41
If pirated and emulated KMS activators stop working because of mandatory TPM hardware checks, a lot of people and small businesses aren't going to buy expensive Windows licenses. They’ll just buy a Mac instead. Why bother dealing with Microsoft's endless hardware restrictions, TPM requirements, and corporate activation headaches when you can just buy a Mac Mini or MacBook that "just works" out of the box? By locking down Windows activation even tighter, Microsoft is literally pushing people straight into Apple's ecosystem. Change my mind. submitted by /u/Alternative-Claim-41 [link] [comments]
Approved goodwill billing adjustment for unauthorized Maps API charges — over a month, still not applied, amount never confirmed
by AirJealous995
I'm a solo developer posting after over a month of delays on a case Google has already acknowledged as unauthorized usage. What happened: - A Firebase auto-generated, unrestricted API key on an inactive side project was harvested and abused by a third party. - Over ~11 hours, Geocoding and Places APIs were called automatically, generating roughly USD 8,000 in charges. - Google's own technical team confirmed a 99% duplicate query rate and that most requests originated from the USA (I'm in Korea, and the project was already shut down / not in development). What Google did: - The technical team investigated and confirmed the abuse. - I completed every preventive measure requested, then shut down the project as instructed. - The billing team officially APPROVED a one-time goodwill adjustment. The problem: - The adjustment was approved about a month ago, and the approved credit still has not been applied. - I have NEVER been told the actual approved amount, despite asking repeatedly in writing. - A "3–5 business day" commitment is now weeks overdue. The latest reply only says they are "awaiting approval from higher management." - Meanwhile I was forced into an installment plan to avoid default — I am now personally financing charges that Google itself confirmed were not mine. These keys were auto-created by Firebase with no restrictions by default, and Google's own docs treat client-side exposure of such keys as normal. This appears to be part of the widely reported pattern of compromised Google Maps/Firebase keys. Has anyone had an approved adjustment actually applied? How long did it take, and what finally moved it? Is there any way to escalate beyond the standard billing case? submitted by /u/AirJealous995 [link] [comments]

Planning to take a $50/mo 10Gbps Kansas City dedi for Seedbox slots – looking for early commitments
by Codec
Hi everyone, I’m a Chinese programmer who likes buying servers and building services on them in my free time. I’ve been using and experimenting with various setups for a while. Recently I saw a dedicated server listed for transfer on another forum: CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1270 v6 (4C/8T) RAM: 32GB DDR4 Storage: 4 × 8TB HDD (32TB raw) – drives have relatively high power-on hours Network: 10Gbps unmetered IPs: /29 (5 usable IPv4) Location: Kansas City, USA Price: $50/month I’m considering taking it over and turning it into a small Seedbox service (shared slots). Before I commit, I want to gauge real interest first. Preliminary plan (open to adjustment): Split into roughly 6–8 slots (depending on final usable space after RAID) Target storage per slot: around 2–3TB Price idea: $12–15 / month per slot Includes basic apps (qBittorrent / ruTorrent, etc.) Payment via crypto preferred, other methods possible What I’m looking for: If I can get solid interest from at least 4–5 people who are willing to pay, I will: Take over the server Live-stream / document the full setup process (RAID, Seedbox panel, isolation, etc.) Build a simple payment + management page Start selling the slots I’m not looking to make big money — mainly want to cover the $50 cost and gain some practical experience running a small shared service. A few honest notes: Location is USA (Kansas City), so DMCA risk is higher than NL/FR. HDDs are not new, so I plan to run RAID6 for safety. This is a small personal project, not a big commercial operation. If you’re interested, please reply with: How much storage you roughly need Preferred price range Any features you care about (Plex, specific apps, etc.) Also very welcome any suggestions — better pricing, different slot sizes, RAID advice, panel recommendations, or anything else. I’m open to feedback. Thanks for reading. Looking forward to your thoughts.

Removal of old Certificate Authority certificate data
by TimetravellingElf
I'm rebuilding some DC's and figured I'd tidy everything up before doing so as I've come into this with a messy environment. from this, I found an old Trusted Root CA, the certificate authority server was decommissioned in 2021 and all certificates have had an expiry date from 2021. its still being pushed out to domain devices such as servers and desktops. would there be any issues running the 'certutil -dsdelca' command based on this. going from research I don't see any issues with running the command as its not in use for any applications. but obviously do not want to break AD 😂. I hope that this question makes sense? submitted by /u/TimetravellingElf [link] [comments]
Hi, I recently started building a multiboot USB drive, and got around to setting up MediCat USB. In a VM, the file Software Lister.exe got flagged as a trojan with a "Severe" rating. The situation isn't any better on VirusTotal — 42/68 engines flagged it as malicious, and the community score is -2. Can anyone tell me more about this file and what I should do with it? submitted by /u/IlyaN4 [link] [comments]
We have been successfully using Powershell to enable secure boot via an Intune detection/remediation script similar to this: https://lieben.nu/liebensraum/2025/03/remediating-secureboot-on-lenovo-devices-through-intune/ We have certain devices (older ThinkCentre models like M70a) that consistently fail. I had considered using the ThinkBIOS config tool. When I brought this up with our Lenovo rep he said that a BIOS password is required on some devices and he tried to sell me RSVP (Remote Supervisor BIOS Password) tool to set a BIOS password remotely. This would cost thousands across our enterprise. I'm wondering if others have run into this and found a solution? Do I really need to set a BIOS password on certain models to do this? submitted by /u/HisBoy_Elroy [link] [comments]
As per topic... our IT disabled/blocked all 3rd party browsers except chrome and default edge. at the same time, none of the adblockers are available to be installed. so now we just have to browse, if anything, with all the ads. my eyes are bleeding. at the same time, since we are using proxy, due to security settings, ANY browse on google maps is as slow as it would be with 254 kbit adsl connection.. what insanity in IT dept drives these decisions. is super paranoid sysadmins or it is actually pushed from something like CTO? submitted by /u/yessuz [link] [comments]
Since vast.ai accepts Card payments via Stripe and Crypto payments via Crypto.com and Bitpay, but Bitpay is blocked in egypt, and Crypto.com KYC only accepts Latin IDs as Egyptian national IDs are not latin IDs.

We have been using Netcup root servers in the USA for around two years without any major issues. They recently launched servers in Singapore, so we moved some of our services there. The main problem is that whenever an abuse complaint arrives, they immediately suspend the entire server. We then have to contact them and request temporary access. They usually reopen it for only two hours, during which we must find and fix the affected website. This has become a major headache over the past two months. We normally receive only one or two abuse reports per month, but each report now causes several hours of downtime. We need a provider that will notify us about any abuse complaint and allow up to 12 hours to resolve it instead of immediately suspending the whole server. Required specs: 64 GB RAM 16 CPU cores 2-3 TB SSD Singapore location Good price Please share your recommendations.
