I'm part of our internal IT team and it feels like we answer the same questions every single day. Password resets, VPN setup, printer connections you name it. We already have documentation but most people don't seem to read it before opening a support ticket. I'd love to reduce these repetitive requests without making documentation more complicated. Has anyone found something that actually works? submitted by /u/ConnectHoney42 [link] [comments]

We’re having a problem with svchost wsappx at our company that I haven’t been able to resolve. It’s constantly using around 10% CPU. For the time being, this is only happening on ‘heavier’ types of laptops, various models running Windows 24H2 or 25H2. We’ve already tried the ‘standard’ Google solutions, without success. We’ve also consulted various AI chatbots (they usually give the same solution as Google). All installed software has been compared, where there are no immediately noticeable differences between the devices with a problem and those without. (Graphics) drivers have been updated ... Has anyone recently experienced a similar problem? submitted by /u/eggeto [link] [comments]

Dynamic Distribution lists

How is everyone doing theirs? I have an org of circa 3000 users and HR want to use their org structure chart to build dl’s for each manager. Simple, right? No, as the org chart does not reflect the reporting structure that is managed via AD. I have proposed using a custom attribute to define head of business function and all the recursive targeted members to align with the org chart but told them they need to maintain this data to provide us with any updates so we can automate this process via exo ddl’s, which they are not happy about. They are expecting us to refer to a pdf style chart of the org structure. So, any of you guys working in medium to large enterprises… how are you guys managing your ddl’s? Thanks! submitted by /u/theballygickmongerer [link] [comments]

Hi guys, I am doing a setup for a POC with Azure Files for FSLogix and Entra Kerberos as the directory, I´ve followed the official documentation but it seems something has to be missing since I can not get it to work. submitted by /u/mariachiodin [link] [comments]

We've got a handful of cross tenant apps and two of them started giving some users 135018 errors (Invalid challenge received from fido assertion) who had previously had no issues. From the sign-in logs in Entra there is little detail as it seems this error is tripped early in the auth flow. No usual suspects like non compliant device or untrusted location, etc. The auth flow does not get as far as processing conditional access policy anyway. I suspect it is Windows Hello related, however I don't have access to any of those logs. Being a cross tenant app only access groups and consents are maintained in our tenant, the rest is in the vendor tenant (don't think it is app config anyway given the failure point). My next play will be to get some of the users to lock their laptop and then unlock it again to ensure a fresh token before opening the problem app. This 135018 error seems very generic with little information on the internet about what causes it/how to fix it. Just wondering if anyone had seen this before and overcome it? submitted by /u/Nicoloks [link] [comments]

I have an odd problem. We want to implement traffic manager and an Azure native loadbalancer for a simple website but we must maintain our public IP which is currently associated with an HA proxy (a vm based reverse proxy used to have one endpoint facing the internet then route traffic internally, similar to a load balancer). When i disassociate the public IP from the HA proxy and attach it to the load balancer... the Azure Traffic manager refuses to see it as 'healthy'. Always degraded. The health checks on the load balancer are good. If we go straight to the load balancer public IP we get to where we need to go, I just simply cannot put the traffic manager in front of it without it saying degraded. If we go back to attaching the public IP to the HA proxy, azure traffic manager returns to normal and healthy. I know that for using the native load balancer you need the NSG rules associated with the nic to actually be open, which we have.. How can i look deep into the logs of azure traffic manager to know WHY its returning unhealthy? The check is a simple 443 check, along with an 80 and 22 check (its an sftp server with those things showing healthy on the load balancer itself). submitted by /u/heapsp [link] [comments]

My company gave me a Lenovo ThinkPad P14S. A few months ago, the Wi-Fi suddenly stopped working, so I contacted Lenovo support. After inspecting it, they found signs of water damage. The problem is, I genuinely don't remember ever spilling water on it. They also told me that the Wi-Fi card isn't replaceable on its own and that the entire motherboard would need to be replaced. Here's where I messed up, I never informed my company. I work from home, so I've been using a USB Wi-Fi adapter and getting by without anyone noticing. It's been a few months, and the warranty has expired. As far as my company knows, the laptop was fine, and the warranty was supposed to continue under our normal renewal cycle. I've basically been avoiding this conversation because I'm worried they'll think I hid it (which, to be fair, I did) or that I'll be held responsible for the repair cost. I know I can't avoid this forever, and I'd rather deal with it before it becomes an even bigger issue. Has anyone been in a similar situation? I don't know how to bring this up to my manager or the IT team? submitted by /u/Informalneh9 [link] [comments]

Hi everyone, I'm currently preparing for the Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer (PMLE) certification and noticed that the certification was recently updated from Vertex AI to the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform / Agent Platform . My goal is to pass the certification within the next 2–3 months , and I'd appreciate advice from people who have already taken the updated exam or are currently preparing for it. My background Backend Software Engineer (Python + Google Cloud) Comfortable with GCP fundamentals (Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run) Currently following the official Google Cloud Skills Boost learning path My questions What topics should I prioritize for the new PMLE exam? Which Vertex AI concepts have simply been renamed to Agent Platform, and which concepts are completely new? Besides the official course, what tutorials, YouTube channels, blogs, GitHub repositories, or labs would you recommend? How much traditional Machine Learning (feature engineering, model selection, evaluation metrics, TensorFlow) is still covered compared to Agent Platform services? Which Google Cloud services should I get hands-on experience with before taking the exam? Are there any practice exams that closely match the updated syllabus? If you passed recently, what study plan helped you succeed? I'm planning to study the following: Machine Learning fundamentals Data preprocessing and feature engineering Model evaluation (Precision, Recall, F1, ROC-AUC) BigQuery ML Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform Agent Studio ADK (Agent Development Kit) Prompt Engineering RAG Vector Search Embeddings Agent Platform Pipelines MLOps Monitoring and Responsible AI IAM and Security BigQuery Cloud Storage Pub/Sub Cloud Run Dataflow If you had 8–10 weeks to prepare from scratch for the updated exam, how would you structure your learning roadmap? I'd really appreciate any advice, resources, GitHub repos, or hands-on labs that helped you pass. Thanks! submitted by /u/mohanraj_rajaram [link] [comments]

I’m 33, have a bachelor’s in Computer Science, but no coding background. After trying a few different careers, I finally broke into IT. I started in a call center, and for the past year I’ve been working in a proper IT Help Desk on site. My day-to-day includes 365 Admin apps, Azure(AVD/Host pools/Session hosts, Windows administration, deployments, printers, troubleshooting, and a little PowerShell. It’s been an excellent foundation, but I feel like I’ve learned most of what this job has to offer. Lately, I spend more time thinking about my next move than my current role. The advice I always hear is, “Do what you’re passionate about.” The problem is, I honestly don’t know anymore. With the current market, AI, and so many different paths, I’m trying to make the smartest long-term decision - one that’s stable, in demand, and pays well. I know the typical path is Help Desk → SysAdmin, but I’m not sure that’s where I want to end up. I heard good things about Cloud, Cybersecurity, IAM, or Modern Workplace/Endpoint Engineering, but I’m open to anything that has good growth. A friend of mine found someone with training+job assistance in ServiceNow Business Analyst but that's pretty much what I'm aware of. I’m in California making about $60k, which doesn’t go very far. I’m willing to spend the next 4-6 months studying seriously if it gives me a realistic shot at a better role. If you were in my shoes today, what path would you choose? I’d really appreciate advice from people who’ve been in this position or who hire for these roles. * Which role would you target? * What skills or certifications would you prioritize? I’d really appreciate advice from people who’ve been in a similar position or who hire for these roles. TL;DR: One year into IT Help Desk and I’ve hit a learning plateau. Torn between Cloud, Cybersecurity, IAM, or SysAdmin. If you had 4–6 months to upskill for the best long-term career and salary, what would you choose? submitted by /u/saadlytics [link] [comments]
